چکیده
obesity is known to increase the risk for cardiovascular diseases. serum levels of cellular adhesion molecules are reported to be indices of arthrosclerosis. so each intervention that has benefit effects on them is very important for general health. the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of high interval intensity training programs on icam-1. 18 sedentary obese males with mean ±sd age, %bf, weight and bmi: exp 1 (20.55±1.34 y, 26.84±4.07, 93.05±9.02 kg and 31.20±3.33 kg/m2) were randomly divided to two groups, the experimental and control groups. participated in 16 weeks of moderate to high intensity interval training (8-10 × 4 minutes sets of running at 60-90% of reserve heart rate and 2 minutes rest interval at 40-50% of reserve heart rate) three days per week. the blood sampling was performed after 18 fasting hours in baseline and 48 h after final training sessions with the same conditions. resulting data were analyzed by independent-sample t test, person correlation coefficient and pair t-tests (?=0.05). data analysis showed that icam-1 decreased in experimental group but only was significant in exp 2 (p= 0.015).there was no relationship between baseline of sicam-1 with physical variable and lipid profile (p >0.05). there was positive correlation between %bf and bfm changes and icam-1 changes (p

متن کاملMolecular comparison of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule (sICAM)-1 and sICAM-3 binding to lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1.
The interactions of intercellular adhesion molecules-1 and -3 (ICAM-1 and ICAM-3) with lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) have been characterized and compared on the molecular and cellular level. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent-based molecular assays have been utilized to calculate the binding affinities of soluble ICAM-1 (sICAM-1) and soluble ICAM-3 (sICAM-3) for LFA-1. Consistent wi...
متن کاملPlasma soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) in pediatric ARDS during high frequency oscillatory ventilation: a predictor of mortality.
Soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), an important adhesion molecule that mediates leukocyte-endothelial interaction, has been identified as a marker for the outcome of acute respiratory tract infection. We postulate that plasma ICAM-1 may be a valuable marker for both biological and clinical severity of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Sixteen pediatric patients (> 1 ...
متن کاملEffect of Eight-Week High Intensity Interval Training on Omentin-1 Gene Expression and Insulin-Resistance in Diabetic Male Rats
Background. Omentin-1, a novel adipokine expressed in visceral adipose tissue, is negatively correlated with insulin-resistance and obesity. Objective(s). The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of high-intensity interval training on omentin-1 gene expression in visceral adipose tissue and insulin-resistance in male wistar rats. Methods. A total of 26 male Wis...

Soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1, soluble vascular adhesion molecule-1, and the development of symptomatic peripheral arterial disease in men.
BACKGROUND Elevated levels of soluble cellular adhesion molecules have been linked to the development of occlusive coronary events in otherwise healthy individuals. It is not certain, however, whether similar relationships exist for the development of early systemic atherosclerosis. METHODS AND RESULTS In a prospective, nested case-control study conducted among 14 916 middle-aged men, we eval...
